Today I want to share an interesting observation from a recent session (anonymized for privacy).
A lady came in with depressive mood, chest discomfort, and liver qi stagnationāa common pattern where emotional stress gets āstuckā in the chest šš.
While needling H7 (Shenmen)Ā and PC6 (Neiguan)Ā on her right side, I noticed the needles moving in a flowing, swaying motion, like a river š, rather than the usual pulsing. PC6 also moved slightly, but only on the right side.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this type of needle movement often indicates:⨠Qi beginning to move along the channel⨠Emotional stagnation being released⨠The HeartāPericardiumāLiver axisĀ responding to treatment
Interestingly, the movement was only on the right side, which in TCM can show that the qi (energy) level is responding first, while the blood (left side) is not yet deeply affected āļø.
The clientās response was remarkable šø:š Immediate release of stress and chest oppressionš Feeling much lighter and delighted in mood on the next day.
This is a beautiful example of how acupuncture works not only on physical symptoms, but also on emotional and energetic levels, helping the body release stuck energy and restore balance šæš.
If youāve ever felt chest tightness, emotional heaviness, or a sense of being āstuck,ā acupuncture can gently help unblock and release that tensionĀ šāāļøāØ.
