If you often feel bloated or uncomfortable after meals, or frequently burp and experience indigestion, this may be a sign of poor digestive function — and potentially even gastritis.

šŸ”Ā Check if you experience any of the following symptoms:

• Feeling full and bloated even after small meals

• Bloating worsens after drinking water

• Occasional nausea and reduced appetite

• Food seems to remain in the stomach for 3–4 hours after eating

If these symptoms sound familiar, it’s advisable to consult your GP. They may check for Helicobacter pyloriĀ (a common cause of chronic gastritis) and request a stool testĀ or a gastroscopyĀ to assess your stomach lining. Medication to reduce stomach acid might also be prescribed.

However, if medical tests return normal and you still feel discomfort — especially after taking medication — it may be time to explore a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)Ā approach.

🌿 How TCM Understands Bloating & Indigestion

In TCM theory, chronic bloating and indigestion often relate to Spleen Qi Deficiency, sometimes complicated by DampnessĀ or Qi stagnation. When the Spleen is weak, it struggles to properly transform and transport food and fluids, leading to stagnation, bloating, and fullness.

šŸŽÆĀ TCM Treatment Strategy

• Tonify the Spleen

• Resolve Dampness

• Regulate Qi and promote downward movement of food

āœ… Herbal Medicine (examples):

• Shen Ling Bai Zhu San – Tonifies Spleen Qi and addresses loose stool, fatigue, and bloating

šŸ½ļøĀ Lifestyle & Diet Tips
